ONE DAY TOUR: Banteay Chhmar & Banteay Torp

Morning, your private Angkor Tourist Guide and driver will pick you up at your self-booked hotel at around 07:30 AM, and then escort you to the heart of Banteay Chhmar Temple form one the great temple complexes from the Angkorian era. The temple was constructed by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th century. The temple complex is one of the largest from the Angkorian era and is one of only two sites outside of Bayon-Style face towers. Banteay Chhmar Temple is currently undergoing a multi-year conservation project by Global Heritage Fund (GHF) and the Cambodian government is in efforts to have Banteay Chhmar listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Afternoon, we will take you to explore Banteay Torp (Fortress of the Army) may be small, but its impressively tall, damaged towers are highly photogenic. Constructed around the same time as Banteay Chhmar, it may be a tribute to the army of Jayavarman VII, which confirmed Khmer dominance over the region by comprehensively defeating the Chams. And then we will stop on the way, to visit a small museum in the village - Banteay Meanchey City.

The whole one day Banteay Chhmar Tour will come to an end here. The guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel.
